While SIORs may focus on different areas
of continuing education,
they are in total agreement
when it comes to its importance. “For
the most part, education is a constant
weekly commitment that I make,”
says Robert J. Nahigian, SIOR,
CRE, FRICS, MCR, Principal of
Auburndale Realty Co. in Newton,
Mass. “Education can be in many
forms, and for me the most frequent way
to maintain education enhancement is
by reading trade and professional
articles. I would estimate that I
read more than 70 publications
per month; not necessarily each
and every article but points
of interest.”
At present, his interests involve
keeping up with industrial real
estate and logistics/supply chain
issues, investment real estate
trends, the economy, and office
space consolidation. “If I see an
educational event that is of interest,
then I want to attend,” says Nahigian.
“National conferences offer me the venue
to fulfill much of my educational needs.”
