Thanks to your support…
The SIOR Foundation is realizing an increase in donations this year. In addition to Phonathon revenues being up by 10% over last year,
we have two exciting announcements based on successful fundraising efforts and the generosity of many individual SIORs, SIOR
Chapters, and organizations related to SIOR.
SIOR Foundation Announces
The David T. Houston Jr., SIOR Memorial Scholarship Fund
Thanks to the initiative of Charles Klatskin,
SIOR, matched by Peter O. Hanson, SIOR,
CIPS, in October of 2010 a campaign was
launched to create a scholarship fund in
memory of our colleague and leader David
T. Houston Jr., SIOR, CRE, FRICS, who died
October 4, 2010. Milton H. Charbonneau,
SIOR, CCIM and his team of Mark D.
Siegler, SIOR, Stan Kurzweil, SIOR, David A.
Simon, SIOR, Howard Weinberg, SIOR and
Charles Parmelli, SIOR led the fundraising
effort to surpass the minimum of $100,000 to create a named
fund. Through the leadership of these and many others, the
Foundation is proud to officially announce the establishment of
this named fund. The new fund, which is the second one created
within the SIOR Foundation, will be used for scholarships in
honor of David Houston’s lifelong commitment to education.
All donors will be recognized on the David T. Houston Jr., SIOR
Scholarship Fund donor list.
The Foundation’s first named fund was the Mildred C.
Hanson (Millie) Hanson, SIOR Memorial Scholarship Fund
established in January 2008 to support and honor women in
commercial real estate. Over 130 donors have contributed to this
Any donor or Chapter may also create a named fund “In
Memory Of” a deceased or “In Honor Of” a living colleague,
loved one, estate, family, or corporation. For more information
