This is Your SIOR Foundation!
The SIOR Foundation is your Foundation. You should be very proud of all your Foundation has accomplished this past year. The
next time you see Larry Taylor, our 2010 President, tell him thanks for a job well done. Larry’s leadership brought us through a
tough year and the Foundation emerged stronger than when we began. He is a model for all of us and a true example of servant
leadership. I consider myself very lucky to have had his example to follow.
So let’s review what we did in our fiscal year 2009-2010. We funded a total of $157,891 for programs and scholarships (September
1 to August 31.)
1) Grants for SIOR educational articles
2) Matching funds for SIOR Chapter programs
3) Matching funds for SIOR Chapter scholarships
4) University Grants
5) Mildred C. Hanson, SIOR Memorial Scholarship
6) Matching funds for SIOR Internships
7) Hispanic College Fund
8) The “ Hunt Sessions” 2-DVD Gift Set
$9,000 to SIOR Professional Report
$12,375 to 16 Chapters for education and research programs.
$75,067 to 19 Chapters for 87 students
$10,000 to University of Northern Iowa Real Estate Education Center
$3,000 to Briana Dunne, University of Illinois
$7,075 to 16 SIORs for 13 interns
$18,400 for students in real estate
$22,974 for 3,000 sent to all SIOR members and associates
These would not be possible were it not for your generosity, so thank you. Every time you make a donation to the Foundation, buy
a ticket for The Great Giveaway, or participate in the 1% Solution, you make it possible for your foundation to fulfill its mission.
This year we saw significant improvement during our annual Phonathon. Pledging has increased and it sure seems like we’ve
turned the corner. This coming year we will need your support more than ever—your financial support as well as your participation in chapter activities that promote the Foundation. Peter Whatmore is serving this year as SIOR Foundation Vice President and
Joe Barna as Foundation Treasurer.
I am also pleased to welcome our new 2011 Trustees who have just joined the Foundation Board:
Daniel J. Doherty, SIOR
David A. Drummond, SIOR
Tom Louer, SIOR
Patricia J. Loveall, SIOR
R. Kirk Rich, SIOR
